ESPN Sees High Numbers for MLB Season Finale

ESPN registered its highest rating since 1998 for its MLB Wednesday Night Baseball match-up between the Red Sox and Orioles in the final game of the season.  Baltimore beat Boston 4-3, ultimately knocking the Red Sox out of the American League Playoffs.

The game registered 1.6. rating with an average of 2.1 million viewers.  The game was not seen in the Boston or Baltimore markets.

Following the game ESPN switched to the end of the match-up between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays.  That game earned a rating of 2.8, with 3.8 million average viewers.
