Our tour of the local sports media covering their NFL teams takes us to the heartland of the country, specifically Kansas City and the Chiefs…
Newspaper- The first stop for news in Kansas City is at the Kansas City Star. The paper sports section includes a specific page dedicated to the Chiefs. Adam Teicher (Twitter) and Randy Covitz (Twitter) lead a group of writers who contribute to the paper’s Red Zone Blog. Sam Mellinger (Twitter) and Kent Babb, (Twitter) are columnists who will have a word or two about the team.
Sports Radio-101FM The Fox is the flagship to the Chiefs Radio Network. The broadcast team is headed up by play-by-play man Mitch Holthus (Twitter) and Hall of Famer Len Dawson. WHB and KCSP provide Chiefs fans with a sports radio outlet.
Television- KCTV, KMBC, KSHB, and WDAF are the broadcast television outlets in KC. Fox Sports Kansas City also covers the team.
Blogs- Many choices when it comes to independent Chiefs’ blogs. Check out Arrowhead Pride, Arrowhead Addict, Chiefs Gab, KC Chiefs Blog, and Chiefs Locker.
