All NFL Media is Local- Cleveland Browns

Browns Feature

This is the first in our look at the local media covering their NFL teams.  Our list is not 100% comprehensive.  It’s just a guide to some of the outlets covering teams in a local market.  We invite you to add others to follow in our comments section.

Let’s take a look at some of the local media covering of the Cleveland Browns.

Newspaper- The Plain Dealer is the city’s dominant newspaper.  It’s online sports section is pretty basic.  It does have a page dedicated to the Browns (Twitter), but it’s not easy to get to.  Beat writers Tony Grossi (Twitter) and Mary Kay Cabot (Twitter) control what’s written in the Brown’s Beat Blog.  Columnists Terry Pluto, Bud Shaw, and Bill Livingston may also have thoughts on the Browns from time to time.

Sports Radio- WMMS and WTAM are the anchors in the Cleveland Browns Radio Network.  Jim Donovan and Doug Dieken are the voices of the Browns in the booth.  For ongoing Browns talk, head over to ESPN’s WKNR AM 850.  We also understand that WKRK 92.3FM will become all sports beginning August 29th.  So there should be another radio option for Browns fans.

Television-  The television outlets covering the Browns include WEWS, WJW, WKYC, and WOIO.  Fox Sports Ohio also has coverage of the Browns.

Blogs- Check out Dawgs By NatureAce Davis’ Cleveland Browns Blog, Browns Locker, and Dawg Pound Daily for independent Browns commentary.

If you read someone other that those on this list, do us all a favor and share them in the comments.
