SMWeekly64

We’re bearing with the summer heat to bring you another edition of the Sports Media Weekly Podcast.

Ken Fang of Fang’s Bites and I start the show examining the circumstances around the “suspension” last week of ESPN. com writer Bruce Feldman.  We also look at ESPN’s big Sunday of action with solid ratings this past Sunday for the Open Championship, FIFA Women’s World Cup Final, and Sunday Night Baseball.

We also take a look at the recently announced NBA schedule for 2011-2012 and whether these games will be played given the status of the players lockout buy owners.

Our guest this week is ESPN’s Michelle Beadle, host of SportsNation on ESPN2 and Winners Bracket on ESPN Sports Saturday on ABC.  We touch upon many issues with Michelle, from her stint on Regis & Kelly, to her relationship with co-host Colin Cowherd, to her statements in the ESPN book on Erin Andrews.

We also look at her use of social media, which may become more prolific as she announced on the show she has just purchased her first iPhone.
