CBS/Turner Sets Regional Semi-Final Times

As we now move to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament this week, the start times and announcer match-ups have been announced by CBS/Turner Sports.  CBS and TBS will have coverage of games Thursday and Friday:

More Big Ratings Numbers for CBS/Turner

CBS and Turner Sports have reported similar ratings numbers for their Friday NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament coverage.  The Friday ratings was 5.0, the same as Thursday’s second round, and up 19% over CBS’ 2010 coverage.  The four networks covering the tournament averaged 7.6 million viewers, also up 19% from 2010.

CBS/Turner Report High Ratings for First Day of Tournament- CBS and Turner Sports combined for a 5.0 rating for the first day of the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament, a 19% increase over CBS’s solo coverage in 2010.  The networks averaged 7.4 million viewers, up 16% from last year.  Here is the demograophic breakdown…

March Madness on Demand Sees Increased Traffic for First Day of Tournament- People were watching more on television, and also online.  March Madness on Demand, which allows users to view all tournament games online, saw a 22% increase in traffic for the first day of games.  In total, 7.6 million users logged into the coverage of streaming video.

Pitino to Join CBS/Turner Tournament Studio Coverage- After a first round defeat to Moorehead State, Louisville head coach Rick Pitino will now spend his weekend providing studio analysis for the third round tournament games.  Pitino will join analysts Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Greg Anthony on set with hosts Greg Gumbel and Ernie Johnson.

CBS/Turner Announces Saturday NCAA Pairings

This is what we should expect going forward with CBS and Turner Sports sharing the coverage of the NCAA Basketball…a reshuffle of the schedule for each round of games.  In the old days CBS would have had the schedule mapped out before the tournament began.  But with Turner involved, then need to work together to share coverage over all television networks.  Anyway, here is the schedule for Saturday’s third round…I’ll have Sunday’s schedule tomorrow morning…
