Ratings Success for CBS on SEC Championship

CBS Sports’ coverage of the SEC Championship game between Florida and Alabama on Saturday, Dec. 5 earned an overnight metered market rating/share of 11.8/24, up +13% from last year’s 10.4/21 for the SEC Championship featuring Florida and Alabama. The 11.8/24 is the best rating ever in the metered markets for the SEC Championship game since its debut in 1992 and is the highest-rated regular season college football game on CBS since 1989’s Notre Dame-Miami game (14.6 HH rating; 11/25/89).

Florida-Alabama also is the highest rated non-bowl game on ANY network in the metered markets since 2006 (13.7/28 for Ohio State-Michigan on 11/18/06).

Alabama-Florida’s game rating peaked at a 13.0/24 from 7:00-7:30 PM, ET.
