Sports Media Musings- January 8th, 2009

Here are some of what happened this day in sports media, along with my $.02…

Kudos again to ESPN for their enterprising reporting on the Adam “Pacman” Jones story. The only thing I can say is…keep it up.

Sports radio banter between the guys in New York and Philadelphia.

Dan Levy on his On the DL Podcast talks with CBS’ Ian Eagle. Take a listen.

The MLB Network is re-airing Ken Burns’ Baseball documentary. Now Burns says he wants to add a 10th inning.

Speaking of the MLB Network, two quick observations after one week on the air…Why with the launch of the network planned years in advance is there a dearth of advertising? And if, as has been stated, MLB Network has the largest video library of all league sponsored networks, why do we have to see Hot Stove 10 times a day?

With all the uncertainty around this year’s college football championship, the WWL still has no plans to throw its weight around to change the system. If they can’t do it, can anyone?
