NFL Local Sports Media- Detroit Lions

Off to the Motor City to take a look at the local media contingent that follows the Detroit Lions

Newspaper- Detroit is primarily a two paper town, sharing one owner with two editorial staffs. The Detroit Free Press has a fairly well laid out online sports section which includes content dedicated to the Lions. What appears a little strange is that instead of one blog for the Lions, each reporter has his or her individual blog where they report on the team.

The Detroit News also has a good layout for its sports section. Its’ Lions-specific page also mixes in other news from around the NFL. Beat reporter Mike O’Hara keeps readers up to date on the paper’s Lions Blog.

Sports Radio- WYXT serves as the flagship in the Lions Radio Network. Dan Miller handles play-by-play with Jim Brandstatter on analysis. You can also talk Lions on WDFN.

Television- WDIV, WJBK, WXYZ, and WWJ handles the local television coverage of the Lions.

Blogs- Looking for independent Lions blogs? Some of them include Pride of Detroit, Detroit Lions Blog, SideLion Report, and Lions Locker.

We know there are more resources for Lions fans. Add your favorites in the comments section.
