The Beat Writer in the NBA, Final Chapter
March 2, 2008 | by Keith | Categories Internet, Newspapers | Comments Off
Here is the final post in Ross Siler’s account of what it’s like to be on the NBA beat covering the Utah Jazz for the Salt Lake Tribune.
In his final chapter, Siler recounts his snowy day in Memphis, as the Jazz rebound to gain a split of their four game-in-five night odyssey.
Being a sports team beat writer is a job many of us would enjoy. The pay is not great, but you get to see much of the country and watch sports up-close for free! But heed Siler’s words…the job is not easy and is quite demanding. It’s not for people who have a difficult time meeting strict deadlines.
Ross, thanks again for allowing us to peek inside your world!
