Many agree that what we all now see as television may one day evolve into an all online venture. Well this may be happening faster than we think.
A new website was launched this week and if you’re a news junkie, this will be right up your alley. Check out Live News Cameras.com. It ‘s a Fox affiliate driven site where you get live streams of news programs or events from local Fox outlets around the country. There are also streams from news organizations around the globe. It can get pretty addictive.
The question I have is, could this concept work in the sports television world? Probably not. The professional sports leagues already have a strong web presence and I can’t see them giving up any control of their product to another online entity.
Even if the leagues can pull off what Live News Cameras.com has done, would more people be apt to follow the action on their laptop instead of their set-top? Not likely. But the thought is intriguing.
