Memphis may be the home of The King, but it is also home for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.  The 49th edition of the game features the University of Central Florida and Mississippi State University.

What better way to get a preview of the game than through the local media outlets that spend their time covering the teams.

University of Central Florida (10-3)

The Conference USA champs enter the game with a seven game winning streak.  Find out more on the Knights from the official football web page.  The Central Florida Future student newspaper is on semester break.  The University has two radio stations, WGKN, and WUCF.

Located in Orlando, the team receives extensive coverage from the Orlando Sentinel.  They have the game blanketed in their sports section, and special sections for the Knights and the Liberty Bowl.

Check out the latest on the Knights on Orlando’s sports radio station WQTM.  On game day you can hear the action on the UCF ISP Radio Network.

Local television and the Knights? Find out by visiting WESH, WFTV, WKMG, and WOFL.

We couldn’t find any consistent posts from independent UCF blogs.  If you know of one, share it with us via your comments.

Mississippi State University (7-5)

The Bulldogs finished in the middle of the pack in the SEC.  They became bowl eligible by winning three of their last four games.  Get all the news that’s fit to read from the team web page.  School may be out of session, but you may still be able to find some tidbits from the campus newspaper, The Reflector.   There may also be some coverage on campus radio station WMSV.

Mississippi is located in Starkville, MS.  The Starkville Daily News is the local newspaper.  As of this writing there doesn’t appear to be much written about the Bulldogs.  There appears to be a little more form the Jackson Clarion Ledger.

You may be able to find some Bulldog talk on WJDX in Jackson.  Tune in on game day via the MSU Radio Network.

Television outlets in Jackson may have coverage of the game…so check out WAPT, WJTV, and WLBT.

Check out the Mississippi State Sports Blog for an independent look at the team.

Thanks for checking in.  Now go watch the game!
